Valerie joined Marini Pietrantoni Muñiz as an Associate in February 2018. She is admitted to practice before the Courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Prior to joining MPM, Valerie worked at Puerto Rico’s largest financial institution, Popular, Inc. There, she held various positions, completing the Management Trainee Program and thereafter joining the Corporate Strategic Planning Division. She was part of the team that prepared and submitted Popular’s first Capital Plan and Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Since 2014, Valerie worked in the Commercial Credit Group as the business analyst for the Chief Lending Officer of Banco Popular.
In 2011 she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Babson College, and in 2016 she earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico. While in Law School, Valerie served as a student attorney at the Criminal Legal Aid Clinic, where she represented individuals before the Puerto Rico Court of First Instance. Further, she was editor for the University of Puerto Rico’s Business Law Journal.
