Jaime F. Villeta García joined Marini Pietrantoni Muñiz as an Associate in October 2019. Before joining MPM, he worked at the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico as Law Clerk to the Hon. Judge Annabelle Rodríguez Rodríguez and at the Court of Appeals of Puerto Rico as Law Clerk to the Hon. Judge Abelardo Bermudez Torres.
Jaime obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, with a major in History of the Americas, and his Juris Doctor from the Faculty of Law of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. While in law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Critical Studies Law Journal, during which time he published the article: Las Urbanizaciones bajo Control de Acceso, Nuevos Países Independientes, 11 Rev. Crit. UIPR 271 (2015), cited by the Hon. Judge Gustavo Gelpí in Watchtower Bible Tract Society of New York, Inc. v. Municipality of Ponce, et al, 197 F. Supp. 3d 340 (DPR 2016). Also, he represented the Faculty of Law at LATCrit 2015, Twentieth Anniversary Conference, Critical Constitutionalism (October 2015) and presented the paper: Challenges and Opportunities Faced by Critical Legal Studies Journal, 12 Rev. Crit UIPR 317 (2016).
